Midway through the first half of the National Hurling League game between Galway and Dublin in Salthill on Sunday, the stadium announcer proclaimed that somebody had handed in a house key, a “sort of elaborate-looking house key” to be more precise, and that it could be reclaimed from the stand at halftime.
As the crowd looked at each other wondering if the key was for some sort of an elaborate house, or if it was the key itself that was elaborate, it was what happened next that led me to believe that the boom is back.

The project, Eververse, combines methods and tools from literary studies and computer science to automatically generate poetry that corresponds to a person’s biometric data, that is how fast their heart is beating, how deeply they are sleeping, and so on.

The Rohingya community in Ireland has welcomed the gesture of Galway City Council stripping Aung San Suu Kyi of Freedom of City bestowed in 2005, and the resolution calling to endorse the UN Fact-Finding Mission report to refer the Myanmar Military to the International Criminal Court for the genocide against Rohingya.
They say that the overwhelming support for both resolutions send a clear message of condemnation the gravest crimes committed against Rohingya and other ethnic minorities as well as a message of solidarity with the victims and survivors of genocide under the leadership of Aung San Suu Kyi.

The Regional Enterprise Plan for the West will leverage strengths of the region to support job creation and local businesses, according to Seán Kyne, Government Chief Whip, Aire don Ghaeilge, don Ghaeltacht agus do na hOileáin. He was speaking at the launch of the Regional Enterprise Plan for the West by Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Heather Humphreys at the PorterShed in the city.
The Regional Enterprise Plan aims to to achieve employment growth of between 10 per cent and 15 per cent and an unemployment rate of within one per cent of the State average.
