A new bilingual booklet featuring previously undocumented folklore about the island’s rich coastal heritage was launched officially this week on Inis Meáin, the middle of the three Aran islands.

Cladaí Inis Meáin (The Shores of Inis Meáin) is a practical field guide which explores local traditions, names, and stories about the seaweeds and seashells found on the island’s rocky shores, featuring details about seaweed harvesting, local proverbs, children's rhymes, unique names heard only on Inis Meáin, as well as ecological information about the island’s coastal biodiversity.
