The much talked about the return of the Tiny Traders Village finally became a reality last weekend as the much loved local market relaunched in a brand new location after almost a year of setbacks and delays.
A record number of visitors were treated to over 40 local artists, crafters, food entrepreneurs, and producers demonstrating and selling their wares in a wonderfully transformed Nuns Island Theatre.
The Traders Village which had last occurred in June 2018 in the Aras na nGael on Dominic Street had their ''highest ever attendance'' according to founder/manager Paul David Murphy who also added that traders and visitors alike claimed the event has been ''taken to a new level'' with it's relocation to the Nuns Island Theatre.
Padraic Breathnach of the Galway Arts Centre who was instrumental in facilitating the revival of the event applauded the end product and remarked that he was ''delighted to see such vibrancy in the Nuns Island Theatre and such great use of the space''.
Saturday marked the return of the once regular event after a long and drawn out 10 month period that generated much intrigue and discussion across the city and county.
The Tiny Traders Village which will now take place every Saturday from 11.00am -5.00pm had gained somewhat of a cult following in its absence as it's email and social media accounts regularly received messages from members of the public inquiring about its status.
