Applications are now being accepted for Our Lady's College QQI Level 5 award in childcare. The course will commence this September in the college's Newtownsmith campus and is designed to facilitate learners who wish to care for young children in a variety of settings or who wish to pursue further studies.

The carefully selected course modules cover a variety of interesting topics including child development, play, and nutrition, as well as the legal and safety aspects of working with young children. In addition to the QQI Level 5 award, students are also offered certification in food hygiene and occupational first aid. Work experience plays a vital role in the course and takes place one day a week throughout the year.
