Skillnets funded management and skills development courses available in Galway

Galway Executive Skillnet provides subsidised training courses to local businesses ranging from soft skills to management development.

Management development courses include front line/assistant managers development programme, QQI Level 6 award, starting September 6, and training delivery and evaluation (formerly train the trainer ), QQI Level 5 award, starting September 19. Course fees are greatly reduced with Skillnets funding.

Front line managers will learn to:

Understand key roles and responsibilities of effective management.

Demonstrate improved ability to motivate and manage individuals and teams.

Engage employees and drive team performance.

Structure conversations with employees to address performance issues and agree new behaviours.

Time management and organisational skills.

Manage change and equip team members with the skills to progress and develop.

Microsoft Outlook: Intermediate to advanced, August 30, 9.30am to 1pm.

Manual handling instructor QQI Level 6: September 4, 5, 6, 11, and 12.

Front line managers development programme QQI Level 6: September 6 and 27, October 18, November 8 and 29, and December 20.

Excel level 1, intermediate, and advanced: September 7, 14, and 21 respectively.Primary food safety EHAI Level 2: September 19.

Managing conflict and having courageous conversations: September 19.

Training delivery and evaluation QQI Level 6: September 19, 20, 21, 26, and 27.

Time management: September 21.

Implementing food safety management, QQI Level 5: September 27, October 4 and 11.

Solidworks essentials: October 4, 5, 11, and 12.

Professional coaching skills: October 5.
