Short Film Awards 2014

FRIDAY MAY 9 at 12 noon is the deadline for entries to the Galway Film Centre’s 2014 Short Film Awards, in association with RTÉ.
The award scheme is specifically for new short Irish fiction films and is open to emerging filmmakers with original scripts that display a strong cinematic vision. There are two cash awards of €9,500 each for the two best scripts submitted to the GFC.

Beardyman, who has been called the “king of sound, ruler of beats,” by BBC1 Breakfast, and “like Bobby McFerrin on Speed” by the Evening Standard, is promising audiences a rip roaring, beat filled and lavishly improvised gigs.

GERMAN HOUSE duo Gamper and Dadoni, who have won attention for their catchy, laid back, mixes, are coming to Electric tonight.
The Hamburg duo play the venue’s Bedlam night from 11pm. The duo formed in 2013 and found their passion in melodic house tunes after some experimental tracks they did together. Their remix of Dolly Parton’s ‘Jolene’ on Soundcloud saw things take off for them and they now have more than 40,000 followers on Facebook. Admission is €5.
