THE SOUNDS of American folk, roots, trad, and rockabilly will fill The Crane Bar during September with a host of gigs which are part of the Galway-Americana Festival.

Kicking off the Americana is The Unwanted who play next Wednesday at 9pm. The band is Dervish vocalist Cathy Jordan, solo guitar slinger, producer, singer and songwriter Shamie O’Dowd, and California folkie Rick Epping. The band play sean-nós, Appalachian, and contemporary folksong.
