He was first struck by euro song fever in 2009 when he penned the Irish entry which was sung by Niamh Kavanagh. He repeated this feat again in 2010, and now he is renewing his fervour for the Eurovision Song Contest with a song entitled ‘Fire’ and sung by Mulingar resident, Zoe Alexis.

Prestigious Irish fashion awards to be hosted by Galway’s Radisson Blu Hotel

The Radisson Blu Hotel has been selected to host The Irish Fashion Innovation Awards ceremony on Thursday March 28.This year marks the fourth Golden Egg Irish Fashion Innovation Awards, where newly emerging designer talents will have their efforts recognised. In honour of its fourth anniversary, organisers are offering bird tickets for €25 to the public. Tickets include pre-show drinks and canapés, goodie bags, and the awards ceremony along with a fantastic after-show party.

These awards are a launching pad for Ireland’s top designers and up this year up to 120 designers submitted their creations for the competition. A shortlist of aspiring designers and students from fashion colleges throughout the country will showcase their designs in the hope of being crowned winner across one of five categories- ‘Student Designer of the Year’, ‘Accessory Designer of the Year’, ‘Jewellery Designer of the Year’, ‘Millinery Designer of the Year’, ‘Fashion Designer of the Year’.
