Engineers Week is coming to Galway

Engineers Week, an annual campaign to promote engineering as a career, is coming to Galway from Monday February 25 to Sunday March 3.

Events taking place in Galway include Engineering at Galway Atlantaquaria, on February 27 and 28 and March 1 from 10am. Students will take a tour of the aquarium, examining pumps and filters and use thermometers to record water temperature readings.

Boston Scientific Galway will host Design Your Own Stent at the Galway Education Centre, Cluain Mhuire, on February 28 and on March 1 at 10.30am. Participants will work with biomedical engineers to learn about and design a medical device. It is suitable for those aged between nine and 13.

The GMIT will host civil engineering laboratory demonstrations on March 1 at 10am and Scratch, on February 28 at 11am and March 1 at 2pm, where participants of any age can create their own interactive story or game.
