A Tuam woman charged with allegedly being in possession of drugs valued at more than €13,000 for the purpose of selling or supplying has been sent forward for trial.
Rose Mahon (32 ) with an address at 41A Palace Fields, Tuam, appeared at Galway Distict Court on Monday charged with being in possession of cannabis, being in possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling or supplying to others, and being in possession of one or more controlled drugs for the purpose of selling or supplying amounting to more than €13,000, contrary to Section 3, Section 15, and Section 15(a ) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977, at Ballybane Road on February 2, 2012.
The court heard how the book of evidence was served on the accused on the morning of the court. Inspector Mick Coppinger said the Director of Public Prosecutions has consented to the accused being returned for trial at the next sittings of Galway Circuit Criminal Court commencing February 19.
After giving what is known as the alibi warning, Judge Mary Fahy made the order for return for trial and remanded Mahon on continuing bail. Free legal aid was also granted plus one junior counsel.
