Missed outpatient appointments cost Galway and Roscommon hospitals €3m last year

Last year almost 40,000 patients did not attend appointments or notify the hospitals in the Galway and Roscommon University Hospital Group that they could not attend in advance. This cost the hospital group over €3 million in lost time preparing for appointments for patients who did not turn up.

Star Trek’s Zachary Quinto, Irish star Saoirse Ronan, and Sex Pistols documentary and film maker Julian Temple, are coming to Galway for the 25th Galway Film Fleadh from Tuesday July 9 to Sunday 14.

The fleadh was launched in the Radisson Blu Hotel on Tuesday and this year’s programme features the usual high standards of Irish and world cinema, including feature length films, shorts, animations, and documentaries.
