A new bus shelter will be constructed at the Tudor Lawn bus stop along Thomas Hynes Road.
Cllr Eddie Hoare says: "Having made numerous representations on behalf of residents for this location to be considered for a bus shelter, I’m delighted that the Galway City Council are now progressing this project."

The contract signing for the €12 million upgrade of Oranmore Train Station will take place next week.
Minister for State at the Department of Transport, Hildegarde Naughton TD, has confirmed that she has already secured €9 million in funding from the Urban Regeneration and Redevelopment Fund and an additional €3 million from her own Department in order to redevelop the station.

Theft of pedal cycle
Between 7pm on Friday May 13 and 1am on Saturday May 14 two bikes were stolen from Spanish Arch area. A grey Dawes racer with blue handlebars and a black Fugi Absolute bike were taken. Anyone who may have information in relation to these thefts or who may have been offered these bikes for sale is asked to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.

Clifden RNLI’s new all-weather Shannon class lifeboat arrived to an emotional welcome from crowds gathered in the Connemara community to see it complete its week-long voyage home from the charity’s All Weather lifeboat centre in Poole. The lifesaving vessel is the first ‘Launch a Memory’ lifeboat to be put on service in Ireland. The St. Christopher carries the names of over 10,000 people on its hull, which were put there by members of the public through a special ‘in memory’ fundraising initiative for the charity.
