Brian O'Rourke, a retired lecturer in Irish Studies at the GMIT spent a day in O’Brien’s company in the 1970s. He will recall the day in this talk I Spent Yesterday With Kate O’Brien, which takes place on Saturday at 4pm in Sullivan’s Hotel, Gort.

THE MUSIC of Nick Cave will be celebrated, sung, and performed in the Róisín Dubh on Saturday March 31 at 9pm by The Van Diemens.

The Van Diemens are Jack Healy (vocals), Gavin Murphy (guitar), JD Wilde (drums), Cian Boylan (piano), and Dan Bodwell (bass), all of whom are experienced musicians who have worked and recorded with Van Morrison, Herbie Hancock, Camille O’Sullivan, and Mary Coughlan.
