AN EXHIBITION of work by part-time art and design students in the Cluain Mhuire campus, GMIT, entitled The BAAD Art Show, opens today at 2pm.
The show reflects the diversity of talent from the students who are enrolled in this six-year visual arts programme. However the students’ future study is under threat by a proposed fee increase from September 2012, which may mean that many will not be able to complete the course.
In response to this situation, The BAAD Art Show celebrates the work done thus far, the value of a visual arts education, and showcases future artists.
The show will be opened by the Galway Arts Centre’s Paraic Breathnach in the Cluain Mhuire campus, Monivea Road. All are welcome. The show runs until April 5.
