Respond now owns and manages 287 homes across Galway, supporting service users in social housing developments and cost rental schemes, family homeless services, early childhood care and education, and supports for elderly people and refugees.

Galway householders are being urged to bring their electrical and electronic waste to a free collection day to help the county meet recycling targets, which have increased since the first lockdown in 2020.
The event, hosted by WEEE Ireland with support from The City Bin Co, will take place on Saturday October 15, at The City Bin Co’s recycling centre in Deerpark Industrial Estate, Oranmore, from 10am to 4pm.

The creative and audiovisual sector in the west of Ireland got a significant boost last evening when TG4 were given the green light to develop a dedicated children’s TV channel entitled Cúla4.
The announcement was made by Arts Minister Catherine Martin who said it will reflect the diverse backgrounds of children living in all parts of Ireland, but particularly in Gaeltacht and Irish speaking communities.

The Garda Síochána Property App allows people to index and record personal property such as bicycles, electronics, farm machinery, and jewellery and report stolen items to gardaí online. The Board of Management of Gaelscoil Mhic Amhlaigh has confirmed that Jack Chambers, Government Chief-Whip and Minister of State at the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Irish Language, Sport and Media will officially open the new Irish language centre at the site of Gaelscoil Mhic Amhlaigh in Knocknacarra tomorrow Friday September 30.
The new Irish language centre, Áras Mhic Amhlaigh: Ionad Gaeilge Chnoc na Cathrach, currently provides Irish-medium pre-school and after-school facilities and will also offer supports and services in the development, promotion and acquisition of the Irish language to the local community.
