It is not right that children fail to outlive their childhood. Their young legs should in an ideal world, enable them to run free, to find wonderment in the environment that is their playground, to leap with their imaginations into the recesses of their young minds, as yet untainted by the cynicism of adult life. And this imagination and carefreeness should come with the love and care of those who are charged with shaping the environment in which they grow.

Councillors call for Housing Minister to meet delegation over cuts

BMW Regional Assembly grant aids Galway’s bus and cycle corridor

An initial grant of €560,000 by the Border, Midland and Western (BMW) Regional Assembly under the European Regional Development Fund grant scheme for the region’s designated gateways and hub towns has been paid to Galway City Council this week. The money will go towards the recently constructed bus and cycle corridor on the west side of the city.

Councillors change tack after opposition to Merlin Park QBC grows
