The Socialist Party TD Joe Higgins will address a public meeting in Galway on the implantation of and ways to resist the controversial property tax.
The meeting, organised by The Campaign Against Home and Water Taxes, will hold the meeting in the Pillo Hotel, Terryland, this evening at 8pm.
According to Conor Burke of the CAHWT, the implementation of this tax is “not a foregone conclusion”. The campaign is calling on those who received a letter from Revenue to boycott the process and “call the Government’s bluff on threats to deduct this tax at source”.
Mr Burke said: “This so-called property tax is part of the Government’s campaign to dispossess the less well off to fund the gambling debts of wealthy speculators and bondholders
