Bish rowing club Christmas cake sale and coffee morning

St Joseph’s College ‘The Bish’ Rowing Club are holding their annual Christmas cake sale and coffee morning to raise funds for the club.

The event will be held at St Pat’s primary school on Lombard Street in the city centre, across the road from the Saturday morning market. The cake sale and coffee morning will take place Saturday, November 28, and will run from 10am to 2pm. There will be a host of activities taking place at the event including novelty quizzes, monster raffle and carol singing with Galway Choral Association.

Flooding hits Galway as OPW stays silent, says Rabbitte

Cllr Anne Rabbitte has expressed her “extreme frustration” with Minister Simon Harris and the Office of Public Works for its continued failure to supply official maps to allow Galway County Council to draw up a credible flood plan.

The Portuma-based county councillor, who is also a Fianna Fáil General Election candidate for Galway East, warned that the flood threat will increase over the coming months, and residents and businesses have no plan to protect them.
