A “barking mad” one euro sale takes place at the MADRA charity shop in Westside this Friday and Saturday, 27th and 28th of November, from 11am to 5pm.
All second-hand goods on sale on the day will have a retail price of one euro in order to make way for Santa’s Grotto which will take place on Saturday December 5 from 1-4pm.
The charity shop, situated at An Fiontarlann in Westside (behind Dunnes Stores ), stocks a range of second-hand items including clothes, shoes, household items, books, furniture and MADRA merchandise. They also sell some new and unwanted gifts and are always looking for donations of unwanted items.
The purpose of the charity shop is to help provide a sustainable source of income for the dog charity; the Westside shop is one of two MADRA shops in Galway – the other MADRA shop is situated in Moycullen.
The Moycullen MADRA shop will also be having a Christmas sale event on Friday December 5.
MADRA is a dog rescue and adoption service based in Connemara. Last year the charity rescued 777 dogs from local authority pounds in Galway and Mayo, and from members of the public.
