Football players and fans attending matches at the Ballinasloe Town AFC pitches at St Enda’s on the St Brigid’s Hospital campus will not be allowed to use existing toilet facilities at the hospital.
This week’s regional health forum was asked by Cllr Alan Harney if a solution can be worked on to allow the club to bring a portable toilet unit on site or access be provided to existing toilets.

Cllr Michael Kilcoyne asked what arrangements are in place in Galway University Hospital to facilitate cancer patients who need urgent treatment, which is not available in the hospital they are in which is not a cancer centre of excellence.

The organisers of the annual Frances Thornton Memorial Galway Bay Swim, for Cancer Care West, are delighted to confirm that this year’s event will take place on Saturday July 20.
This year 130 swimmers will take on the 13km swim, 50 swimming solo and 80 in relay teams of 2,3 and 4 swimmers. It is always a great spectacle on the day as for the final 100 metres into Blackrock diving tower, paddle boards and kayaks guide the swimmers and their accompanying boats home.
