Galway City Council is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced organisations in Galway City to develop and deliver new programmes, projects, or initiatives that will deliver outcomes on the following objectives:

Creative Children: Develop creative opportunities for / with children and young people.

Creative Communities: Enable communities to engage and participate.

Creative City Region: Create opportunities for excellent, diverse, and visible contributions from artists and creative producers in Galway City.

In January 2024 Galway City Council adopted the Local Economic and Community Implementation Plan 2024-2025 setting out high-level economic, community and cultural development goals. The Cultural Partnerships Fund relates to High-Level Goal One – a World-Class Creative City Region and implements the city arts plan New Directions Strategic Plan for The Arts 2021-2026 that guides Galway City Council’s investment in the arts. The plans will be implemented by Galway City Council directly and in partnership with arts and cultural organisations.

Galway City Council recognises the value of adopting a collaborative, targeted approach to the development of a World-Class Creative City Region. The Cultural Partnerships funding call focuses on the above key objectives (Creative Children, Creative Communities and Creative City Region ) which offer significant potential for artistic innovation, access and inclusion, and community engagement. The funding available is €95,000, and it is anticipated that approximately five to six projects will receive support.

Interested applicants are requested to submit an outline 300-word proposal in writing, via email for their new collaborative programme, project, or initiative. Please include information on the activities and expected local impacts of the project, partners to be involved, the added value of this project, and an outline budget, including your funding request.

The proposal must be received via email to [email protected] on or before noon on Monday, 23 September 2024, with ‘Cultural Partnerships 2024-2025’ included in the subject line. Following this, organisations with suitable proposals will be invited to submit a full application. The overall application deadline is Friday, 4 October 2024.
