The competition is open to all between the ages of 18 and 40 who may be nominated in one of 10 categories and nominations close this weekend.

The top 10 honourees will be selected by an international panel of distinguished judges and will receive their award at the JCI Ireland Presidents’ Day ceremony in May 2021. Furthermore, the 10 chosen national honourees will then be nominated for the international JCI TOYP awards with the chance of becoming one of the most outstanding young people in the world during an international ceremony in Johannesburg, South Africa in November 2021.

McNelis welcomes School Zones measures

Cllr Niall McNelis is delighted that work has started on School Zones measures at a number of locations.

The Galway City Council has been successful in a funding application and these initial measures comprise the laying of coloured spots and road markings outside selected schools. This is to raise road users awareness that they are entering an environment where there is a school - and to encourage slower speeds.
