Tommy and Hector to lead a charity night for Haiti

Tommy Tiernan and Hector Ó hEochagáin will host Thank You For The Music, a charity show to raise funds for the earthquake stricken island of Haiti.

Thank You For The Music takes place in The Salthill Hotel on Wednesday at 7.30pm, and as well as Tommy and Hector there will be performances by Led Zetor (the new glam rock band from former Saw Doctors’ bassist Pearse Doherty), The Girls of ABBA Revival (featuring Una Gibney and Yvonne Tiernan of Abbaesque), and The Divas performing hits from the 1970s to the 1990s.

TG4 comedy series nominated for awards

AN CRISIS, the new comedy series on TG4, has been nominated for a number of awards at the Monte Carlo Television Festival 2010.

The series is broadcast on TG4 on Wednesdays at 10.30pm with a repeat on Saturdays at 8.45pm. It chronicles the strange world of An Chomhairle Teanga, an Irish language organisation, its director Setanta De Paor (Risteárd Cooper) who has to grapple with Government cutbacks, media scrutiny, questionable projects, a new Minister, and a series of oddball colleagues.
