Tourism sentiment buoyant on bright start to 2016

Almost three quarters of tourism businesses reported business to have increased in the first quarter (Q1) of 2016 according to the findings in the latest Fáilte Ireland Tourism Barometer. The Barometer is a survey of tourism businesses which seeks to gauge tourism performance for the year to date and prospects for the year ahead.

Economic cooperation agreement signed between Shannon Free Zone and China Zone

The Shannon Free Zone has signed an official accord for economic cooperation with a Chinese equivalent, the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone (SHFTZ).

At the All Ireland Safety Quiz Finals held in Athlone on Saturday, Thermo King - Ingersol Rand, Galway was the overall winner in the Previous Entrants category.The All Ireland Occupational Safety Quiz Finals are run jointly by the National Irish Safety Organisation (NISO) and the Northern Ireland Safety Group (NISG). A total of 14 teams competed from all parts of the island of Ireland.

There was a great turnout at the event, held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Athlone, with great support for the participating teams from their coworkers.
