GMIT Innovation Hub-based client One Touch Telecare wins the ITAG award 2016 for Best Technology Start Up

GMIT Innovation Hub-based client company One Touch Telecare won the ITAG award 2016 for best Technology Start Up last Friday night (22nd April ) in the Hotel Meyrick. One Touch Telecare designs and delivers ‘Connected Healthcare’ solutions to support Care Management companies with the management of their clients and Care Professionals. Our innovative cloud based software to home care management organisations provides accurate, real time, business critical data enabling care management providers to deliver a more efficient, responsive and proactive service. One Touch supports the care company to effectively manage all aspects of their business, from scheduling carer appointments, to managing client care plans and invoicing while also offering real time communication between staff working remotely and their administrators.

This patient-focused approach greatly reduces social isolation and loneliness while supporting the client’s life journey, wellness and health. In addition, One Touch Telecare solution engages patients by offering technology to stimulate the minds and enhance connectivity with the care providers and loved ones all over the world. The software is used by care companies in Ireland and in the UK.

In total, four out of the six nominee companies for the award were GMIT iHub based clients. The other nominees included BriteBiz, Clearbooking, and Tr3dent. Turlough Rafferty, Operation Manager with GMIT iHub said they work closely with Enterprise Ireland in identifying and nurturing the next generation of high potential start up technology companies.

Sponsored by Enterprise Ireland, the ITAG Technology Start Up Award is conferred on a company/technology start-up within three years of its foundation. This award recognises excellence in early entrepreneurship, product and strategy development, and early market/market position development.

ITAG was established in 2000 as a regional IT association representing both multinational and indigenous IT companies to foster the continued growth of a strong IT cluster in the Galway region.

ITAG Awards aims to promote and recognise outstanding innovative technology and applications. It also encourages practitioners to develop creative ICT solutions for a better life and uplifts the professional image of Galway and the West of Ireland’s technology industry both locally and internationally.
