Winners out west —13 IFTA nominations for TG4

This year’s IFTA Film and Drama awards have welcomed thirteen nominations for TG4-funded films. The 18th Irish Film and Television Academy Awards recognise Irish creative talent working in film, drama, and television, and will take place in March. Ten of the TG4 nominations were received by An Cailín Ciúin alone. Foscadh received two nominations, and Doineann has one.

Galway City Council seeks volunteers to roll out successful anti dog-fouling campaign in their area

In 2021, ‘Clean it up, you dirty pup!’ - Galway City Council’s novel community engagement approach to tackling dog litter in Galway City - achieved a reduction of 60% dog fouling in the five trial areas. Galway City Council is now seeking volunteers to roll out the successful campaign in new areas in the city.

The initiative is aimed at irresponsible dog owners who do not clean up after their dogs.

Women’s health seminar – osteoporosis and pelvic floor muscle dysfunction

The Irish Osteoporosis Society and International Pelvic Physiotherapy Management are jointly running a seminar for the general public on Osteoporosis and Pelvic Floor Muscle Dysfunction. The seminar will be held in the Ardilaun Hotel, Taylor’s Hill, Galway on Friday February 25 from 7-9pm.

There will be three speakers on the night, Ms Michele O’Brien, CEO, The Irish Osteoporosis Society, Ms Aoife Ni Eochaidh, Chartered Physiotherapist, International Pelvic Physiotherapy Management, and Prof Moira O’Brien, President, The Irish Osteoporosis Society.
