Interested in running an event? Architecture at the Edge has issued an #OpenCall for entries for the 2023 event, which promises a city and county-wide exploration of the theme “Re-Mapping’ through a wide range of events between 29 September – 08 October 2023.
The Architecture at the Edge, (AATE) Festival is an annual public celebration of architecture and the built environment. The Festival programme will feature talks, tours, workshops and exhibitions with many of Ireland’s leading architectural, cultural and academic institutions participating from around Ireland, the UK and Europe.

Irish environmental programme Clean Coasts is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. In honour of this milestone, over 300 groups in Ireland, including 34 in County Galway, have registered to carry out a clean-up during the week around World Ocean Day.
Clean-ups will be happening in groups of all sizes, from individuals, friends and families to community groups, tidy towns groups, schools, sports groups etc...and they are set to happen in different locations throughout the county, including on Salthill, Grattan Beach, Rusheen Bay, Gurteen Beach, Inis Mór, Lettermullen, Spiddal,Galway City, and more . People who haven’t signed up to host a clean-up, can still join the celebrations, by joining a public clean-up.

To mark the Feast of Corpus Christi on Sunday June 11, a Eucharistic Procession will take place in Galway City and its route will include the new Salmon Weir Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge.
People are invited to gather for Mass at the Abbey Church on Francis Street at 3pm. Participants will then walk in procession via the newly opened Salmon Weir Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge, with the recitation of the rosary, the singing of hymns and concluding with Benediction at the Poor Clare Monastery on Nun’s Island.

A pop-up Covid-19 vaccination clinic will take place on Saturday from 9.30am to 2.30pm at the Galway East Primary Care Centre, Merlin Business Park, Doughiska Road (H91 FCV9) from 9.30am to 2.30pm. The clinic is located beside the Galway NCT test centre.
This will be a walk in clinic, people do not need to make an appointment to attend. However, appointments are available and can be booked online at www.hse.ie People are asked to bring photo ID with them.
