The Indian Cultural & Sports Community Galway (ICSC GALWAY ) has announced that the eagerly awaited India Day celebration, commemorating India’s Independence Day and celebrating the vibrant cultural heritage of India, will take place this Saturday, August 19, from 3pm to 7pm at Coláiste Muire Mháthair on St Mary’s Road, Galway.
The India Day celebrations promise an array of cultural programmes, dance performances, delectable Indian street food stalls, a captivating fashion show for both children and adults, engaging quizzes, games, and much more.
This year’s celebrations are graced by the presence of esteemed guests who reflect the cultural and diplomatic significance of the event.
Guests include Deputy Mayor Cllr Donal Lyons, Senator Seán Kyne, ATU president Dr Orla Flynn, Garda David Murphy, and Mr Murugaraj Dhamodaran, First Secretary (political, commerce, education, and press & information ), who will represent the Embassy of India in Ireland, emphasising the strong ties between the two nations.
The event promises to be a cultural extravaganza, featuring diverse performances that showcase the rich traditions of India. Attendees will have the opportunity to savour traditional Indian delicacies, including vegetable biryani, gulab jamun, vada pav, dahi vada, bhelpuri, and idli sambhar, available for sale.
