A Connemara man was ordered to refrain from making any further nuisance phone calls or sending menacing messages after nine complaints from health care workers were brought against him.

Padraig Conroy (25) with an address at Lehenagh, Cashel, Connemara, appeared at Galway District Court this week charged with nuisance calls which were indecent, obscene, or menacing to eight women and one man.

Sexual assault treatment unit to open next month

The facility will initially be based in a temporary premises which is understood to be on the west side of the city close to University Hospital Galway.
