Citroen’s stylish C5 Tourer and the new C3 Picasso have been named “Best Estate Car” and “Best MPV” respectively at the 2009 What Diesel Car of the Year Awards.

The dynamic Citroen C5 Tourer saw off 30 contenders to take top spot in the “Best Estate Car” category. It particularly impressed the award judges with its excellent economy, refinement, and great ride quality. RSA launches Register of Approved Driving Instructors

From May 1 learner drivers paying for driving lessons should only be using an approved driving instructor who registered with the Road Safety Authority.

That’s the RSA’s message to learner drivers following the introduction of new laws which, for the first time, regulate driving instructors in Ireland. Learner drivers looking for their nearest approved driving instructor can visit www.rsa.ie or www.drivingtest.ie or www.theorytest.ie to download the list of full permit holding approved driving instructors.

Jaguar Land Rover tells us it has been exploring new opportunities to distribute its vehicles following the sale of the company by Ford to Tata Motors Limited.

After reviewing its wholesale arrangements in Ireland, Jaguar Land Rover has decided to convert it to an importer market. Jaguar and Land Rover have for many years operated through a mix of national sales company in the case of Land Rover, and an independent importer for Jaguar. JLR says that it has a number of long and productive relationships with high quality independent importers around the world who have well established local infrastructure and can contribute local market expertise. There are also significant synergies in terms of cost, systems and management processes.
