Jung Turks return with debut album

THIS YEAR may be fast drawing to a close, but for the Galway based guitar and percussion duo Jung Turks, it marks the opening of a new chapter in their existence.

The Jung Turks have just released their debut album Liber Eth. Using their main palette of amplified nylon string guitar, drums, and electronics the brothers give voice to a wide range of styles over the album’s 11 tracks.

OVER THE Rainbow, the new dance show based on The Wizard Of Oz, will be performed by the Corrib Dance Academy in the Town Hall Theatre next week.

This production, aimed at all the family, is based on the original story by Frank Baum and influenced by both the original Judy Garland film (1939) and The Wiz (1978) with Michael Jackson. All of the young people and children featured are CDA dance students, many have been training with the academy for more than 12 years.
