The new company, McCarthy Keville O’Sullivan Limited will commence trading immediately and will provide existing and new clients with a more comprehensive range of environmental and planning services.

IBEC welcomes ESB investment

The start of construction this week by the ESB on a new 110kV station at Seamus Quirke Road in Galway is a welcome development for the region, according to IBEC regional director John Brennan.

“At present Galway city and Connemara are reliant on supply from a 110kV station located in Ballybane,” Mr Brennan said. “The new station on the west of the city will significantly enhance Galway’s energy capacity and security of supply.”

Collins remains on in Vhi chair

Vhi Healthcare announced this week that Mr Bernard Collins has been re-appointed as chairman of Vhi Healthcare by Mary Harney, Minister for Health and Children for a further five years. Mr Collins was first appointed to the board in September 2003. Bernard Collins is chief executive officer of Lifemed Consulting Limited. A native of Cork, now living in Galway, Mr Collins received a BA honours in applied industrial psychology/business from University College Cork, Ireland.
