US chemotherapy giant to make Galway its European HQ

ONE of the top pharmaceutical and medical device companies in the US is to set up its European headquarters in Galway, it was announced last evening in New York.
Delcath Systems, Inc. which is primarily involved in the production of cancer-fighting drugs and the delivery of chemotherapy, announced that the company will base its European operations in Galway and that it has formed Delcath Systems Limited (Delcath Limited), an Irish company under which it will establish its European operations.

Galway artist Maeve Curtis has been selected for this year’s prestigious Threadneedle Prize in London, the ‘alternative to the Turner Prize’.

The new fixyourstreet.ie website, which allows the public to directly report problems like potholes, graffiti, and broken streetlights to their local authority, needs to be rolled out in Galway as soon as possible.
This is the view of Labour councillor Niall McNelis, who says that if it was available in Galway “it would show how quickly Galway City Council do get work done”.

Galwegians on Jobseeker’s Benefit who are keen to upskill and retrain should apply for the Government’s new JobBridge scheme and avail of the 70 vacant internships in Galway.
