A group of media and social media influencers from Qatar and Australia have arrived in Ireland via Qatar Airway's new flights from Doha to Dublin for a press trip to learn more about two of Fáilte Ireland’s major tourism brands: the Wild Atlantic Way and Dublin – A Breath of Fresh Air.

A tailored visit has been designed by Fáilte Ireland in conjunction with Tourism Ireland to promote Ireland to the Qatar influencers that included Mrs Universe 2014 Yezenia Navarro; model and fashion influencer Nuha Al Samarae; and Qatar food blogger Rachel Morris; and four Australian media to get a deeper knowledge of Ireland for their followers and readers.

Cathaoirleach Eileen Mannion of the Galway County Council officially launched the 2017 Irish National Hot Air Balloon Championships which is taking place again in County Galway from September 24 to 29.

At the launch event in Claregalway Castle, she said; "I am delighted to be able to launch this event coming back to County Galway that there will be 40 international balloon teams coming to County Galway is a great opportunity for the county, for the communities, business, and tourism in the county for which I can already see great excitement."

This sense of a thriving city is particularly evident at this time of year, as the Galway Film Fleadh leads in to the Galway International Arts Festival, which in turn is followed by Galway Race Week. These festivals, and the many others which take place throughout the year, make a significant contribution to business activity in both the city and the county. We welcome the success of these businesses, which is fully deserved, primarily through the hard work, dedication, and level of customer service they provide.
