Kinvara area visual arts will present a screening of the documentary Sean Scully Why This Not That? (53 mins ) on the evening of Friday August 25 at 8pm with doors opening at 7.30pm.
The film takes an intimate look at the artist Sean Scully. Shot in an observational style, the main narrative thread begins with a blank canvas and ends with a completed painting. The film explores the meaning of his life, work, art, and creativity through his encounters with his students, at his exhibitions, with his sculpture in the south of France and at the canvas in his New York studio. The film is directed by Michael Doyle, produced by Patrick Timmons Ward, and financed by the Irish Film Board.
The location of screening will take place at The Courthouse, Kinvara, County Galway.
