Join Galway Choral Association in celebrating 20 years of music

If you love singing, the Galway Choral Association (GCA) wants to hear from you. The Association is a 60–voice community choir and has vacancies for men and women who want to make great music. The association’s 20th anniversary is in 2018, and they will host a special Gala concert in January. The programme will include Fauré’s “Requiem”, with Galway natives soprano Aisling Kenny and organist David Grealy. Later in 2018, the choir will visit Germany, to sing Vaughan Williams’ “Dona Nobis Pacem” with Ulm Chor Levantate.

Dust down those runners for Croi night run

As autumn approaches, local heart and stroke charity Croi is encouraging everyone to set some fitness goals of walking, jogging, or running by aiming to participate in the third annual Croí Galway Night Run on the Prom which takes place this year on Friday October 13 at 8pm and will once again be sponsored by Evergreen Healthfoods.

Last year, more than 1,200 people of all ages, shapes, and sizes participated in this novel fun run on the Prom. Each runner has the option of recording his/her time or just completing the three mile distance just for fun.
