You might not be able to go out this Valentine’s Day but you can still have a great night by joining the National Breast Cancer Research Institute for a spectacular ‘virtual’ Valentine’s Day Concert with some of the biggest names in Irish music.

The charity’s Valentine’s Ball has been a highlight of the Galway social scene for many years and has beenone of their major fundraising events. Unfortunately due to COVID it is not possible to hold the fundraiser as normal, but performers including Daniel & Majella O’Donnell, Nathan Carter, Sean Keane, Trudi Lalor, Cliona Hagan, Sandy Kelly, The Fahys & Chris Kelly, Mary Byrne, Mike Denver and many more have united to celebrate ‘Live, Laugh and Love’ while helping to maintain funding for the breast cancer research team based at the Lambe Institute, NUI Galway.

NTA allocates €12million to cycling and walking infrastructure in Galway city

The National Transport Authority has today announced allocations totalling €11.86m for 33 sustainable transport projects in Galway city. €240m in funding has been announced nationally for 468 sustainable transport projects in 12 local authority areas as part of the National Investment Fund. This year’s allocations have increased by just over €130m as compared to last year’s and will support the addition of 233 new projects to the NTA’s investment programme in 2021.
