Highfield Park to get new energy efficient LED lights next week

Poor lighting was an issue of concern to residents for some time

Highfield Park, located off Taylor's Hill, is set to receive new energy efficient LED lamp heads next week, according to Fine Gael Galway City West councillor, Clodagh Higgins.

Cllr Higgins had received representations from residents regarding poor lighting at the estate which was an issue of concern. On foot of this, she contacted the Galway City Council and asked for a scheme of improvement works to be developed.

The council has said Highfield Park is now a priority area for essential works. Works will consist of the replacement of the existing lamp heads with energy efficient LED lamp heads to provide greater visibility on the public spaces, road, and footpaths”.

Cllr Higgins has been assured that the works will be unobtrusive to the residents in the area and will cause no disruption.
