Four Galway-born first cousins are climbing Ireland's highest mountain, Carrauntoohil, in aid of the Alan Kerins Project. Alan's sister Miriam Kerins, along with cousins Aoife Lynskey-Keane, Brenda Kerins, and Martina Kerins will take part in the Caps to the Summit challenge this September. The four are hoping to raise €10,000 for the worthy cause which supports community and youth leadership development projects in Zambia.

Galway Hospice will hold its 10th annual Galway Memorial Walk on Sunday September 13. This year’s walk will begin at 12 noon from the Claddagh Hall, following the traditional coastal route to Blackrock and return — a total distance of 6.5km.
The Memorial Walk is Galway Hospice’s biggest annual fundraising event, and it has become a very special and deeply personal event for the people of Galway. The organisers hope that, as this is the 10th year of the walk, people will be out in huge numbers to walk in memory of their loved ones.

A syndicate group of four work colleagues from a city catering company who have been playing together for fourteen years were in high spirits on Tuesday as they collected their EuroMillions Match 5+1 prize of over €372,000 in National Lottery offices.
The lucky winners, who wish to keep the win private, bought their lucky €10 Quick Pick ticket in Duggan Supermarkets on Renmore Road, Galway City last week ahead of Friday night’s draw. They will split their prize equally, taking home €93,000 each.
