SKA BAND Big Jelly, inspired by The Skatalites, Prince Buster, and Toots & the Maytals, play the ninth annual Kinvara Mardi Gras in the Kinvara Community Centre this Saturday at 8pm.
With their loud and lush five-piece brass balanced atop the solid dance grooves of their rhythm section, a Big Jelly show is a frenetic experience that will grab the audience's attention and fling it about the dance floor.
Also on the bill are What the Funk - Hugo Smith (guitar/vocals ), Paul Johnson (bass ), and Bruno Staehelin (drums ), and The Gringo Stars - Paul Gunning (box/sax ), Pete Brazier (guitar/fiddle ), John Martin (bajo sexto/guitar/fiddle ), Frank Hall (fiddle/guitarron ), Eileen Fleming (harp ), and Johnny Moynihan (box/bazouki ) - who play Mexican music.
Tickets are €12/10 and are available at the door and via www.kinvaramusic.com
