John O’Conor to play Town Hall

JOHN O’CONOR, the internationally acclaimed Irish pianist, returns to the Town Hall Theatre next week to play the music of Beethoven, Chopin, and Field.

O’Conor is a genuine superstar of Irish classical music, who began his career in 1973 by winning First Prize at the Beethoven International Piano Competition in Vienna that year. Since then he has earned a worldwide reputation as a masterful interpreter of the Classic and early-Romantic repertoires.

For his Town Hall show he will perform Haydn’s Sonata in b minor, Beethoven’s Sonata in c minor, Field’s ‘Three Nocturnes’, Chopin’s Berceuse in D flat, and Baracarolle’s Op 60 and ‘Ginastera - Argentinian Dances’.
