Kaiser Chiefs confirmed for GIAF Big Top

Kaiser Chiefs, Bell X1, Tones and I, and Fat Freddy’s Drop will perform at the Galway International Arts Festival Heineken Big Top next year, GIAF and Róisín Dubh have confirmed.

The bands, announced yesterday, will perform at the iconic Fisheries Field venue in July 2023.

Bell X1 will make a welcome return to the GIAF stage on Friday, July 28. This Kildare three-piece are one of the great Irish bands and firm crowd favourite. Audiences can expect to hear hits such as Rocky Took a Lover, The Great Defector, The End is Nigh, and Flame.

Australian singer-songwriter Tones and I will take to the Big Top stage on Saturday, July 29, following an incredible entry onto the music scene with the global hit ‘Dance Monkey’. The tune has been No 1 in more than 30 countries, going quadruple-platinum in the USA and multi-platinum in 15 other countries. Topping seven billion streams worldwide, she followed this huge success with a debut album, Welcome to the Madhouse, and most recently a collaboration on the single ‘Chant’ with Grammy award-winning artist Macklemore.

Fat Freddy’s Drop are regarded as one of the great live acts. Combining techno, house, soul, dub, reggae, funk rhythm and blues, these New Zealanders have built a sizeable international following. With the Guardian newspaper described them as a “funk machine” and a “must see live gig”, this is a night not to be missed. Fat Freddy’s Drop will play the Heineken Big Top on the Thursday, July 20.

After having to cancel their GIAF 2022 performance, Kaiser Chiefs will take to the Big Top for a much anticipated performance on Thursday, July 27. One of the UK’s best loved bands with hits such as Ruby and I Predict a Riot, Kaiser Chiefs always deliver a great live show.

Tickets for the Kaiser Chiefs are now on sale while tickets for Bell X1, Tones and I, and Fat Freddy’s Drop go on sale at 10am tomorrow, Friday December 9, at giaf.ie and roisindubh.net
