Get into the swing at the Town Hall

Luke Thomas and The Swing Cats to perform the songs of Fred Astaire, Bobby Darrin, Nat King Cole, and Michael Bublé

LUKE THOMAS, the multi-awarding vocalist, and his band The Swing Cats, are coming to the Town Hall Theatre to get Galway swinging to the sounds of Louis Armstrong, Fred Astaire, Bobby Darrin, and Nat King Cole.

The show, entitled The Story of Swing... takes place on Friday November 29 at 8pm, and will capture the full evolution of swing music, from its birth in the 1920s, to the genre's heyday of the thirties and forties, to the revival of the fifties and sixties, and even including the swing resurgence of recent years. The concert will hear renditions of 'King of the Swingers', 'Puttin on the Ritz', 'When The Saints Go Marching In', 'Mack The Knife', 'I Can't Take My Eyes Off You', 'Mr Bojangles', and 'New York, New York', as well as contemporary swing from Michael Bublé and Paolo Nutini.

Luke and the band have enjoyed sold-out shows at The National Concert Hall and The Olympia Theatre, a certified No 1 album, and recently had two TV concert specials broadcast on Virgin Media.

Tickets are available from the Town Hall (091 - 569777, www.tht.ie ).
