From Little Green Cars to Soda Blonde

New Irish alt-pop band release debut EP and play Roisín Dubh this month

FOLLOWING THE release of their debut EP, Terrible Hands, Dublin alt-pop band Soda Blonde, featuring former members of Little Green Cars, are touring Ireland this month, including Galway.

The band - Faye O’Rourke (vocals ), Adam O’Regan (keyboards, guitar ), Donagh Seaver O’Leary (bass ), Dylan Lynch (drums ) - released Terrible Hands last Friday, and will play the Róisín Dubh on Saturday November 23 at 8pm.

Although born from the ashes of Little Green Cars, Soda Blonde is very much a new direction for the members, bringing in elements of Fleetwood Mac, Little Dragon, Bat For Lashes, and Kate Bush. Their debut single, ‘Swimming Through The Night’, was described by Hot Press as "pop music that is both emotionally affecting and incredibly satisfying”, while also praising "O’Rourke’s powerful and hauntingly unique vocals".

Speaking about the new EP, O’Rourke said it "touches on failed relationships, personal shortcomings, and self discovery. It was written over a hugely transitional period for all of us and was nothing but joy to create. We are so excited to get to share them to a live audience.”

Support is from The Junior Show. Tickets are available from www.roisindubh.net; OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street; and the Róisín Dubh.
