Theatre fest launches Creative Europe project

Developing the skills of the local, and European, theatre community

GALWAY THEATRE Festival will officially launch its Creative Europe project - Make A Move - on Wednesday March 27 at 4.30pm in the O’Donoghue Centre, NUI Galway.

The launch will also unveil the Galway-based artist who will participate in Make A Move on behalf of Galway and Ireland, as well as the 10 local artists who will take part in the project activities in Galway.

The project, co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union and Galway 2020, with additional co-funding from the Arts Council and the Galway City Council, brings together a core group of European-based artists who work in physical and movement-based theatre.

Over the course of the year, they will participate in three artistic labs in Galway, Croatia, and Romania, learning new skills in digital technologies, site-specific theatre, audience development, and the business of independent theatre. In each lab, the core group of artists will be joined by a further 10 local artists, to develop the skills of the local theatre community.

All are welcome to the launch.
