As expected, the in-form Gary Thornton of Galway City Harriers won the senior men’s event at the 2010 County Galway Cross-Country Championships.
Thornton came in ahead of 47-years-old Gerry Ryan of Craughwell AC who ran very well to take the runner-up spot ahead of Paul McNamara of Athenry AC.

Sixty-seven teams, representing 19 counties are competing in the blitz. Ladies Football developed the Gaelic4Mothers initiative as a way of involving mothers and older women in their local clubs in a more meaningful, healthy and sociable way.
