St James favourites

St James aim to get into the senior ranks of Galway football for 2011 when they take on An Spidéal in the intermediate final at 2pm in Pearse Stadium on Sunday.

The city side went down by two points to Leitir Mór last year in a game they still feel they could have won. However they should have been hardened by that experience, and with Paul Conroy and Eoin Concannon in their ranks, they have the talent to win this tie.

An Spidéal only came up from junior to intermediate last year and it would be a phenomenal success story if they were to jump two grades in two seasons.

The local bookies really fancy St James to win and they are 2/7 favourites with Mulhollands, with An Spidéal available at 11/4.

The draw, of which there have been many this year in Galway football, is at 8/1.

The game is to be refereed by Gerry Daly.
