Footballers drawn with Armagh away

The Galway footballers have been drawn away to Armagh next weekend, July 11/12, in round two of the All-Ireland football qualifiers.
The date and time of the game will be announced next Monday and it is not clear at this stage if the game will be played on either Saturday or Sunday.

The Galway hurlers face a severe test of their credentials this Sunday afternoon at Croke Park (4pm). In order to annex what would be the county's second Leinster title, they will need to produce a top-class display against current All-Ireland champions Kilkenny.
The Cats looked fantastic when they dismantled Wexford by 5-25 to 0-16 in their recent semi-final clash at Nowlan Park. Ger Aylward was their main scorer with 3-05 from play, and the usual names up front such as TJ Reid and Richie Hogan also chipped in with a combined 2-12.

Ward is wary of the challenge Offaly will pose, but, he is hopeful of building on the win his charges had in their first round game over Cork.

Galway Triathlon Club's Kevin Thornton was triumphant in the longest race at Lough Cutra Castle Triathlon, in Gort on Sunday.
Competing in the event known as The Gauntlet, a tough half iron distance, with 200 competitors, Thornton led from the swim exit and smashed the course record with 4:15:08.
