As part of a nationwide campaign The Ardilaun hotel will host a teddy bears picnic for Barnardos this Sunday July 5 from 12.30pm to 2.30pm. All proceeds raised from teddy bears bought on the day will go to Barnardos, Ireland’s leading children’s charity.

The event is expected to host more than 150 children and their families, for a picnic lunch of activities, treats and family fun events.

Care centre open day

The Village Nursing Care Centre will hold its annual open day on Sunday July 5 from 3pm. The open day is a community celebration which promises to have something for all the family. Visitors will be treated to a barbecue and buffet selection courtesy of The Village chef and her team. The Village wine and juice bar will also be in full swing as guests are entertained by Carmel Dempsey and friends, as well as a host of entertainers and dancers.

A vintage car and machinery display will take place courtesy of The Mountbellew Vintage society. Other attractions will include a fire safety demonstration, a nutritional talk by Dr Bhatti, and a wood turning demonstration by local craftspeople.
