Researchers and industry convene for GlycoSience Event at NUI Galway

Grow a moustache for charity this Movember

“Since I don’t smoke, I decided to grow a moustache - it is better for the health,” so said the Spanish surrealist artist Salvador Dalí, and next month Galwaymen can grow a moustache for health reasons too.

Movember, the international charity event where men grow moustaches to raise funds for and awareness of prostrate cancer and men’s health issues, returns to next month, and Galwegians are being encouraged to get involved.

Something To Sing About for cancer survivors

A Galway medical specialist is spearheading a global initiative aimed at aiding people’s recovery from cancer.

Dr Paul Donnellan, a consultant medical oncologist at University Hospital Galway and the Galway Clinic, is setting up a worldwide choir of cancer survivors called Something to Sing About (STSA).

This is the first time that a Hall of Fame shortlist will be included in the award ceremony and this year the event will be held in Lyrath Estate, Kilkenny, on Friday October 12.
